EIDR Examines Registry Data Quality
Now that the Entertainment ID Registry (EIDR) is celebrating its 15th anniversary, managing director Hollie Choi and the crew of EIDR are taking a long look at the quality of the data that’s being entered into the registry.
Because EIDR was created with physical content distribution in mind, EIDR has tasked its Data Governance Committee to look into ways of making the records entered into the registry more accurate and complete, with the usability and structure of the registry itself under review.
“The idea is that the EIDR board wants to examine deeply what we’re tracking, and is it still relevant to today’s digital supply chain?” Choi said. “We’re lifting the lid to see what’s going on under the hood.”
Everything from vocabulary to terminology to supply chain information is being reviewed, she added.
The impact on those using EIDR should be negligible, though EIDR is seeking suggestions and feedback on ways to improve the registry. Contact Choi at hchoi@eidr.org.
