‘Sunrise on the Reaping’ Gets 13 Millionth EIDR Alt ID
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Lionsgate’s sixth installment in the franchise, hitting theaters Nov. 20, is the 13 millionth EIDR alt ID registered, the Entertainment ID Registry (EIDR) announced).
IMDb registered the 13 millionth ID.
The EIDR ID is https://ui.eidr.org/content/10.5240/9C5E-E21B-3CDA-0B0E-E7DD-I while the IMDb ID is https://www.imdb.com/title/tt32558705.
“One of EIDR's more popular applications is third-party ID translation. We don’t expect EIDR to replace all other identifiers out there in the world, but it can bring them all together,” said Richard Kroon, senior director of technical operations for EIDR. “Linking IMDb IDs to EIDR records makes it that much easier for our users to reference IMDb’s vast pool of descriptive metadata, audience ratings, and box office statistics, in addition to the resources associated with the more than 500 other types of third-party identifiers we maintain.”
Currently, EIDR has more than 576,000 IMDb IDs, and more than 3.5 million total EIDR IDs assigned. The number of alt IDs first exceeded the number of EIDR IDs in August 2014. There are more than 500 different types of Alt IDs.
EIDR records document audiovisual works from 222 different countries in 420 different languages and dialects.
Based on the novel by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping covers the 50th Hunger Games (known as the Second Quarter Quell), taking place nearly a quarter century before the events of the original films.
