EIDR adds AlloCiné IDs from Webedia
as Alternative ID in its Registry

Cementing its role as the industry’s leading ID cross-resolution platform.
London, December 15th, 2016. – EIDR (the Entertainment Identifier Registry) announced today that Webedia is the latest industry player to have added its AlloCiné ID to the registry. The EIDR coalition is organized as an industry non-profit, and is comprised of key stakeholders from content owners, video post-production houses, content distributors, retailers, entertainment services and technology provider companies.

“The actors of the digital audio-visual industry know that complexity abounds, in a digital world, and that many, many identifiers have been out there for a while,” said Cédric Siré, Founder and Managing Director of Webedia. “Companies like us, but also our customers, stakeholders, both upstream and downstream in the digital value chain need to resolve and cross-reference IDs. Exposing our AlloCiné ID in the EIDR consortium registry allows everyone in our ecosystem to more easily automate their workflows, create stellar consumer experiences, match assets and metadata, and much more”.

“We’re delighted to welcome AlloCiné as our latest addition to our list of Alternative IDs” stated Don Dulchinos, Executive Director of EIDR. “The EIDR consortium is a resource to the industry, and here again, we prove that cross-resolution of IDs benefits from an open platform and approach to content identification. Beyond the EIDR ID itself, the cross-resolution of identifiers is something which continues to benefit the industry as it grows and deploys many different use cases ranging from content discovery to business intelligence.”

The EIDR content identifier and related platform APIs, tools, and solutions, can be used efficiently by all the actors of the digital video value chain. It includes Alternative IDs from Sony Pictures, IMDb, ISAN, Flixster/Rotten Tomatoes, Warner Bros, ITV, Baseline, Cinemasource, Netflix, NBCU, Comcast and Veronica Publishing, amongst others.
