EIDR Participates in HAND IBC Accelerator Project

At the annual IBC event Sept. 13-16 at the RAI Center in Amsterdam, HAND (Human & Digital) will present the “Digital Replicas and Talent ID: Provenance, Verification and New Automated Workflows” Accelerator project, tackling the disruptions within media and entertainment caused by deepfakes and other AI creations, with a focus on the need for a standardized identification framework to enable talent authentication for the media supply chain.

Among those participating is EIDR, which is assisting in mapping the workflows for the project, with other participants including Videntifier, The Scan Truck, WaveSeven Consulting, WILD CAPTURE, and EZDRM.

“By offering a distinct and standardized identification framework, this project aims to streamline the authentication process, ensuring reliable verification of real individuals, virtual avatars, and fictional entities,” the IBC Accelerator description reads. “This exploration responds to the urgent need from the media and entertainment industry for an agile solution to automate provenance, thus verifying the authenticity of digital personas and protecting against unauthorized virtual representations.”

On Sunday, Sept. 15 on the Innovation Stage at IBC, project participants will share how the project aims to help minimize legal complexities and enhance transparency in talent utilization through streamlined collaboration and licensing across industry stakeholders and show how producers and distributors can easily identify and track the usage of talent across different platforms and formats.
