Meta Joins EIDR

Multinational technology giant Meta is the latest company to join the Entertainment ID Registry (EIDR), bringing the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, Threads, and more into the content ID organization.

One of the largest tech companies in the world, Meta commands a massive amount of global content engagement across its family of applications, with nearly 3.6 billion daily active users, according to data from Originality.ai. Facebook alone accounts for more than 3 billion monthly users, while Instagram dominates with 1.74 billion reachable advertising users.

According to Sprout Social, more than two-thirds of Facebook users check the platform daily, and the platform is increasingly becoming the go-to social media network for B2C marketing, with more than 90 percent of marketers using the platform to target audiences.

Meta paid creators nearly $3 billion in 2025, an increase of 35 percent from 2024, with more than half of that money going toward short-form video content creation.
