Pete Sellar, the senior director of technology strategy and standards for Xperi Inc., has joined the board of the Entertainment ID Registry (EIDR).
At Xperi, Sellar is responsible for representing the company’s interests among industry standards bodies, with a focus on ensuring audio technologies deliver the best quality possible to consumers.
“I believe EIDR plays an important role in the industry, and I’m looking forward to helping EIDR continue to expand internationally,” Sellar said, pointing to EIDR’s recent member additions of ITV, BBC, Globo, and CJ ENM.
Prior to Xperi, Sellar served as associate director of broadcast for the DTG, the United Kingdom’s self-funding center for innovation in digital media technology, where Sellar also held roles as associate director of program delivery and as program manager. He has been a board member for the Ultra HD Forum and UHD Alliance since 2018.
Sellar has also held roles with Freesat and the BBC World Service. He has a degree in electronic engineering from the University of York.
