London-based SonicAI https://www.sonicai.ai , which provides next-generation, AI-powered audio verification for the media and entertainment industry, has become the latest company to join the ranks of the Entertainment ID Registry (EIDR).

The company’s patented, AI-powered audio protection solution encodes audio content with a unique key, helping content owners across film, TV, music, social media, live performances, and podcasts protect their intellectual property.

The company aims to become the universal standard for content protection and provenance authentication, with technology “capable of providing a single source of truth for all parties,” SonicAI states.

The company has offices in Los Angeles and Sydney, and provides content owners the ability to have their IP encoded prior to distribution. SonicAI’s technology is also geared toward usage by generative AI companies searching for methods to protect and monetize digital output.

Audio provenance uses include per-stream content verification in real time, encoding of re-recorded masters as proof of provenance, encoding of GenAI content to prove provenance, and metadata-based heat maps for consumption analytics. On the IP protection front, SonicAI can detect IP infringement by GenAI and uses blockchain for centralized rights management.
