EIDR Welcomes New Member ITV

As EIDR makes gains in international markets, the organization is welcoming British public broadcaster ITV, the oldest commercial network in the UK, as its newest member.

First launch as Independent Television in 1955, ITV today is a vertically integrated producer, broadcaster, and streamer, consisting of ITV Studios and Media & Entertainment (M&E), and creates, owns, and distributes scripted and unscripted content for broadcasters and platform owners in the UK and internationally.

Through its M&E vertical, ITV distributes content across both ad‑funded linear channels and on ITVX, a free ad‑supported streaming platform.

Additionally, ITV operates ITV Studios, which comprises nearly 60 labels across 13 countries, with 90,000-plus hours of catalog content. It’s the largest producer in the UK, one of the largest unscripted producers in the U.S. and one of the top three in most of the international markets in which it operates. ITV Studios also operates in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Israel, the Nordics, and Australia.

Jointly with BBC, ITV helps operate BritBox International, an ad‑free subscription streaming service available in the U.S., Canada, Australia, South Africa and the Nordics, offering the most comprehensive collection of British content available in those territories.

Most recently, ITV Studios announced new FAST channels worldwide, building a suite of owned and operated channel propositions and creating new homes for scripted and non-scripted content, with 15 FAST channels available across 16 territories on three continents.
