Veronica Publishing First National European EPG Datafeed Provider to Join EIDR

Amsterdam, September 08, 2014. — IBC — Veronica Publishing, a leading Dutch print media TV program guide publisher, has joined the EIDR consortium. The EIDR identifier is increasingly leveraged in digital video supply chains that include content owners, content distributors, electronic retailers and technology provider companies.

“Veronica Publishing is moving to digital distribution on various platforms,” said Marc Nederbergh, Senior Business Developer for Digital of Veronica Publishing. “Our renowned print media products already enjoy a strong consumer brand recognition, which we intend to leverage on digital platforms, from mobile to tablets, and connected devices. The EIDR registry helps us match, combine and integrate multiple sources of metadata from 3rd party sources or our own editorial content, faster, more automatically, and thus produce stellar consumer experiences in an ever more complex marketplace.”

The EIDR content identifier and related platform APIs, tools, and solutions, can be used efficiently by all actors of the digital video value chain. From small content producers to large broadcasters, to multichannel video programming distributors to equipment providers, EIDR helps automation of the digital workflows.

“We are very pleased to welcome Veronica Publishing as our first European EPG National metadata provider member,” said Don Dulchinos, Executive Director of EIDR. “The ability to work with digital market players who serve their National ecosystem is an important development for a content identifier registry. This has the potential to also open new markets for the content owners of this programming, in a worldwide, digital marketplace.”

Other European companies who have joined EIDR include BFI and Viaccess-Orca, as well as global providers like Google, Netflix and Technicolor.
