EIDR Debuts New Website

PLAYA VISTA, Calif. — When managing director Hollie Choi first joined the Entertainment ID Registry (EIDR), she was given some insightful feedback about the state of the EIDR website.

“’Your documentation sucks, and your training is a waste of time,’” she said, speaking at the recent EIDR Annual Participant Meeting (APM).

The comment earned some laughs from the APM crowd, but Choi took it seriously, working for months to improve the forward-facing portal of the Registry. At APM, Choi and EIDR debuted the new-look home https://www.eidr.org of EIDR.

“This is a completely fresh build. It's just a lot more organized,” Choi said.

The new site includes:

• An updated “Our Work” section https://www.eidr.org/our-work , covering EIDR’s importance to the media supply chain, its crucial contributions to discoverability and content authenticity, how content owners and distributors rely on EIDR for media distribution, the importance of EIDR and proper metadata, successful use cases for EIDR, and more.

• A “Get Involved” https://www.eidr.org/join area offers the pricing and benefits of onboarding with EIDR, shows working groups members can join, allows visitors to subscribe to EIDR’s monthly newsletter, and features a new speaker request form, for those wanted EIDR to contribute at panels and events.

• An expanded “About Us” section dives deeper into EIDR’s uses and history, and includes insights into EIDR’s technical structure, a list of participating companies, an area for members of the board of directors, and a schedule with upcoming events, holidays, and training sessions.

• And finally, a “Members” portal presents Registry and Causeway logins, a help desk and documentation section, training insights, and an onboarding area for new members.
